In the midst of the preservation efforts to save the Art Deco District, with a mission to provide an alternative to the commercial cinema experience, a group of passionate film lovers set off to bring film culture to Miami.
MBC, The Miami Beach Cinematheque, is Miami’s premiere HD art house cinema, home to the Miami Beach Film Society. In the Historic City Hall on South Beach built by Carl Fischer in 1927, MBFS restored and renovated an amazing space which is a screening room, gallery, bookstore/library, and cafe.
The people behind MBFS and MBC want you to join the club! The driving force of the film society and cinematheque is film connoisseur Dana Keith, founder and director. He is supported by the MBFS Board of Directors, Founding Circle, Technical and Artistic Staff, and Volunteers.
